Penn Hills homicide suspect apprehended
A suspect in the murder of a Penn Hills man last month was arrested Friday, Allegheny County Police said.
Brandin Demonde Jackson, 30, of Wilkinsburg, was arrested at about 2:15 p.m. Friday by the Allegheny County Sheriffs Fugitive Squad Sheriff’s Deputies after police received information that he might be staying in an apartment complex in the 1400-block of Fairmont Street in Wilkinsburg. After hours of surveillance, police said they saw Jackson leave the apartment building and quickly moved-in to arrest him without incident.
Jackson was transported to Allegheny County Police Headquarters for questioning and then taken to the Allegheny County Jail where he will be held without bail on the probation violation and to await arraignment on charges of criminal homicide and burglary, police said.
The charges stem from the fatal shooting of Shawn Allen Brookins, 27, early June 14 inside his home in the 200 block of Crescent Pines Drive, county police said.
Anyone with information concerning this homicide is asked to call the Allegheny County Police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS — 1-833-255-8477. Callers can remain anonymous.
