Penn Hills man admits to roles in robberies in Penn Hills, Pittsburgh

A Penn Hills man has admitted in federal court to being a part of spree of robberies in his hometown and Pittsburgh, authorities announced Tuesday.

Rudolph McBride 24, pleaded guilty to four counts each of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.

Authorities said McBride and others were indicted for robbing, at gunpoint, employees of the Swifty Tires store along Frankstown Road in Penn Hills on Nov. 24, 2018.

Authorities also said McBride admitted to being involved in a robbery at a CoGo’s convenience store along Brownsville Road in Pittsburgh on Jan. 30, 2019.

U.S. District Judge William S. Stickman IV scheduled sentencing for Aug. 11.

The FBI, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, the Monroeville Police Department and the Penn Hills Police Department were all part of the investigations.
