1 shot dead in altercation outside Penn Hills bar, police say

Allegheny County Police are investigating a fatal shooting Thursday night outside of a Penn Hills bar.

Police said 32-year-old Andrew William Miller of Verona was shot in the chest outside the World Class Tavern in the 600 block of Long Road.

Miller was taken to UPMC Presbyterian hospital, where he died.

First responders were called to the scene just after 10:30 p.m.

“The preliminary investigation shows that the shooting occurred after a physical altercation outside of the tavern,” county police said in a news release.

The suspect is in custody, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.

The county police homicide unit is investigating. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the county police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (255-8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
