The Seneca Hills Village Singers gathered for a special Memorial Day concert May 26 to celebrate veterans and honor the men and women who lost their lives while serving our country.

The chorus staged a 45-minute concert for residents and visitors of Seneca Senior Living along Saltsburg Road in Penn Hills.

Under the direction of Joseph Hajdu, the 18-member chorus presented a number of classic patriotic songs, including “America the Beautiful” and “My Country, ’Tis of Thee,” as well as “Let There Be Peace on Earth.”

Soloists Gwen McNab and Robert Grimes gave a special performance, and Frank Bauerle read a tribute titled “The Ceremony.”

Following the concert, recognition was given to residents of the campus who are veterans. An updated photo was taken of them for the Veteran Wall of Honor located on the first level of the home.
