State lawmakers to host senior health fair in Oakmont
Pennsylvania Sen. Jay Costa, D-Forest Hills, and state Rep. Joe McAndrew, D-Penn Hills, want to talk health.
The two state lawmakers will host a free health and senior fair on Oct. 9 in Oakmont to discuss community services and resources with attendees. Starting at 10 a.m., seniors from any community are welcome to attend the fair at Dormition of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church social hall on Washington Avenue.
There will be free flu and pneumonia shots available for attendees. Guests are asked to bring their Medicare or insurance cards. They also will have access to blood pressure screenings.
Seniors will be given the opportunity to browse 48 vendors including an unused medication takeback and disposal hosted by Project D.U.M.P. an Allgheny County sheriff’s office program.
The offices of U.S. Congressman Chris Deluzio, D-Fox Chapel, and Allegheny County Councilman Nick Futules will be at the event to hear from residents.
Door prizes also will be given out. Registration is not needed.
