SUV crashes through basement wall of Penn Hills home

A driver was taken to the hospital after crashing an SUV into a Penn Hills Home, according to Penn Hills No. 7 Volunteer Fire Company

The crash happened shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday. The car went off the road and smashed a hole in the basement wall of a Hamil Road home, according to the fire department. First responders removed the car’s driver’s side door to get to the injured driver.

Medics took the driver to the hospital.

A fire marshal was called to assess damage to the house, which was occupied at the time of the crash, according to the fire department.

Further details were not immediately available.
