Three candidates ran successful write-in campaigns for a shot to serve on the Penn Hills school board.
Meryl Thomas was the top vote-getter on both GOP and Democratic tickets, earning 630 votes. She secured 431 write-ins on the democratic side and 199 GOP votes.
Jacqueline Blakey earned 517 total write-in votes, with 450 on the democratic side and 67 Republican.
Elizabeth Rosemeyer earned 384 votes. She got 303 on the Democratic side and 81 on the Republican side.
Allegheny County spokeswoman Amie Downs said all the candidates will receive a letter in the coming week asking them to accept or deny the nomination. They have 21 days to accept or deny the nominations.

Penn Hills School Board President Erin Vecchio and member Rob Marra snagged nominations in both the Republican and Democratic party primaries. Both incumbents were the only two people on the May 21 ballot.
There are five, four-year seats up for grabs in November.
