On April 3-4, Unity Community Church will run its spring food drive for three local food pantries – Penn Hills Service Association, Rosedale Food Pantry and Plum Food Pantry.

To help out, volunteers will be stationed outside Community Supermarket Verona, Shop ‘n Save in Penn Hills and Shop ‘n Save in Plum with fliers listing items that can be donated. While shopping inside, anyone can pick up the requested items and donate them to the volunteers collecting outside. Items will then be moved to Unity Church, where they will be shipped to the food pantries by Ventec Refrigeration.

In the fall, Unity Church was able to deliver 750 boxes of food and approximately $1,500 in monetary donations. The church’s goal is to increase this by at least 10%.
