A multi-vehicle crash sheared a utility pole and brought down wires Wednesday night, closing a section of Universal Road in Penn Hills.

The wreck was reported at about 8:45 p.m. and closed Universal between Stotler Road and North Joslyn Drive, according to Allegheny County officials.

Duquesne Light initially reported more than 500 customers in the area were without power. According to the utility’s website, there were no outages remaining shortly before midnight.

Penn Hills police were investigating.

Further details weren’t immediately available.
