Manor group plans Halloween party; Super Seniors to meet; radon workshop slated and more
Manor rec board to hold Halloween party
A Halloween party for children will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Manor Community Room, Main Street.
The Manor Recreation Board is sponsoring the party and will have refreshments, a costume contest, crafts games and a disc jockey.
Costumes will be judged at 7 p.m.
Seniors group to meet
There will be a discussion of arthritis during the meeting of the Super Seniors of Westmoreland County at noon Nov. 1 in the Community United Methodist Church, Route 130, Harrison City.
Lunch is $6 and reservations are needed by people attending for the first time.

Harrison City church to sponsor bingo
Advanced tickets are being sold for a Super Bingo planned for 2 p.m. Oct. 30 at St. Barbara Parish, Raymaley Drive, Harrison City.
Lunch is included for admission.Doors open at 12:30 p.m.

Radon monitoring workshop slated
A free virtual radon monitoring workshop via Zoom that will be conducted from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 20 will offer information about the dangers of radon, Protect PT’s radon air monitoring program, how to install radon monitors, and how to see the radon levels in their homes.
Protect PT, a Harrison City-based environmental organization, will conduct a virtual radon monitoring workshop. Those participating will have the option to rent a radon monitor for $12 to use for 30 days to see the radon levels in their home.

Girl Scout troop creates lending library
Girl Scout Troop 52678 and Protect PT, a nonprofit environmental organization in Harrison City, have introduced a new free book-borrowing resource to the Penn-Trafford community.
Girl Scout Amelia Renwick helped to create the lending library in front of Protect PT’s Route 130 office in Harrison City. The project was done to earn her Girl Scout Silver Award, which is the highest recognition for achievement in Girl Scouting for girls in grades six to eight.
Residents are encouraged to donate used books and pick up new ones to expand the resources within their community and home.
