Penn-Trafford details graduation plans
To comply with state requirements for social distancing during the covid-19 pandemic, Penn-Trafford will hold two gradation sesssions Friday at the high school’s Warrior Stadium in Harrison City.
Students whose last name begins with the letter A to L, will attend the 5 p.m. ceremonies. Students whose last name begins with a letter from M to Z will have commencement at 8 p.m., the school district said last week.
The parents and guests of the first commencement program should leave the stadium directly after the ceremonies, to allow sufficient time to prepare for the 8 p.m. ceremony.
If there is rain on July 31, the ceremonies will be moved to Aug, 1, with the same times for the students.
Students will be sent a video offering detailed directions on what to expect for commencement. It also will be available on the school district website.
Each family will get four tickets for admission to the stadium. Any graduate with more than four members in their immediate family should contact the school’s main office. Graduates do not need a ticket.
The stadium gates will open 45 minutes before the ceremony and graduates and their families are to walk into the stadium together. Parents and families will go to their assigned seats in the bleachers, while graduates will walk to their assigned seat on the field.
