Penn Township Fall Festival schedule set
The annual Penn Township Fall Festival, complete with parade, amusement rides, food, entertainment and cooking contests, returns to the Municipal Park complex in Harrison City on Sept. 16 - 18.
Opening ceremonies are set for 5 p.m. Sept. 16, followed by the American Legion Riders at 5:30 p.m. The festival stage will be the site for the entertainment — the Classic Brew Band at 6 p.m. and the M-80s band at 7:15 p.m. The festival will conclude for the evening at 10 p.m.
The festival will kick off on Sept. 17 with the annual parade in Harrison City at 10:30 a.m. Opening ceremonies will follow at noon and a car cruise. The Penn-Trafford Community Band will perform at 1 p.m. Dynamic Music Studio will perform at 2 p.m., followed by Angela Angelczyk at 2:30 p.m. The Robert Michaels Band will entertain at 5 p.m., followed by Big Trouble. The day will be topped off with Zambelli Fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
There will be two cooking contests on Sept. 17: a pumpkin pie baking competition and a chili cookoff.
Those who want to enter the pumpkin pie contest must submit their entries by 1:30 p.m. at the Fall Festival booth.
Chili chefs must bring a sample in small slow cooker, which must be presented to the Fall Festival booth by 1 p.m.
The winners will be announced at 5 p.m. Saturday on the main stage. First-place winners in each contest will win a $125; second place, $75; and third place, $50.
On Sept. 18, the festival will begin with a community workship service at 11 a.m., followed by entertainment with Sound System Music at 1 p.m. and Common Ground will play at 3 p.m.
