Penn-Trafford area: Art boxes donated, choral group seeks singers

Trafford Elementary students get art boxes

Students at the Trafford Elementary School received art boxes for the new school year from UPMC East hospital in Monroeville.

Christine Morain, point of care coordinator in lab administration at UPMC East, spearheaded the drive to help all students in first through fifth grades with a donation of 200 art boxes.

The art boxes have an assortment of supplies, such as a pencil, eraser, glue stick, scissors, crayons and markers.

Classes began last week.

Mon Yough Chorale seeks singers

The Mon Yough Chorale, a community choral group, will resume rehearsals at 7 p.m. Sept. 12, at Sampson’s Mills Presbyterian Church, 1665 Lincoln Way, White Oak.

The chorale is seeking new members, with no audition required.

At this time, only fully vaccinated singers will be accepted and proof of vaccination is required.
