Pancake, sausage breakfast planned in Level Green

The Level Green Lions Club will serve blueberry, buttermilk, buckwheat or plain pancakes and sausage from 7 a.m. to noon Nov. 12 at the Level Green Community Building, 123 Murrysville Rd., to benefit Lions Club charities.

The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children. Tickets will be available at the door.

Veterans eat for free.

The pancakes will be all-you-can eat. Meals can be take-out or eat-in at the community building.

Penn-Trafford students raise money for injured classmate

The parent-teacher organization at Penn-Trafford’s Sunrise Estates Elementary School raised more than $1,000 to help the family of Liam Lavelle, a six-year-old Penn Township boy who lost both of his feet in a lawnmower accident in July.

The PTO held a “Love for Liam” day last month. Students and staff were encouraged to wear a Warrior jersey, along with a custom-made sticker to show their support.

The students also presented the family with an album containing photos of students posing in the shape of a heart.

Bushy Run museum to host colonial cocktail fundraiser

The gin craze in England from 1720-1765 will be explored the Colonial Cocktail Hour from 7 to 10 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Bushy Run Battlefield Museum, Route 993, east of Harrison City.

The event sponsored by the Bushy Run Battlefield Heritage Society will give participants an opportunity to taste some cocktails of the era, some of which feature gin, as well as hors d’oeuvres.

All guests will receive a copy of the drink recipes to take home.

Tickets are $25 and are available at Eventbrite.

‘Young at Heart’ seniors group seeking new members

“Penn Township’s Young at Heart,” a senior citizen organization, is seeking new members. Activities for those age 60 and older include lunches, entertainment, guest speakers and trips.

Christmas toy drive begins in Penn Township

Express, an employment agency at 4012 Route 130, Penn Township, is holding a Christmas toy drive through Dec. 2.

New, unwrapped gifts can be dropped off at Express from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Association of University People meetings scheduled

The Association of University People’s club for single college graduates will host four dinners in November:

• Nov. 16, 12:30 p.m. at Nakama, 1611 East Carson St., Pittsburgh

• Nov. 18, 5-7 p.m. at Primanti Bros., 1539 Washington Ave., Mt. Lebanon

• Nov. 24, 2 p.m., Thanksgiving dinner at the Lamplighter, 6566 William Penn Highway in Salem
