Penn-Trafford CROP walk slated
The Penn-Trafford CROP Walk to raise money for area food banks will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Bushy Run Battlefield, Route 993, east of Harrison City.
Participants will have several options, such as a 5-K walk and a shorter walk, as well as a virtual option.
Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 23, at the pavilion near the entrance to the park.
Twenty-five percent of the money raised through donations and pledges by the walkers will be divided between the Trafford Food Bank and St. Barbara’s Food Bank in Harrison City, said the Rev. John Titus, past of First United Church of Christ of Harrison City and chairman of the local CROP Walk. Seventy-five percent of the money goes to the Church World Service, a faith-based organization that helps humanitarian needs around the world.
Donations can be made online at events.crophungerwalk.org/2022/event/harrisoncitypa.
Participants should pre-register. For those who do not have a church affiliation, registration materials can be obtained by contacting Titus at rev_jt@verizon.net or 412-334-5496
The Penn-Trafford Ministerium is sponsoring the walk at Bushy Run Battlefield.
