Penn-Trafford plans homecoming festivities
Penn-Trafford’s annual homecoming events on Oct. 8 and 9 will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the merger of Penn Joint and Trafford high schools.
The homecoming parade on Oct. 8 in Harrison City will feature floats designed by high school clubs. The homecoming parade and halftime ceremony at Warrior Stadium during the game between Penn-Trafford and Gateway will feature many past principals, secretaries, retired teachers, former homecoming kings and queens and alumni from the past 50 years.
An alumni tent, located inside the lower gate of Warrior Stadium, will feature photos, spirit wear sales and refreshments.
Past graduates who wish to march in the parade can meet at the pond parking lot at the Penn Township Municipal Park in Harrison City between 5:15 and 5:30 p.m. The parade will begin from the top entrance at the municipal fields at 6 p.m. and follow Walnut Street and cross Route 130 and proceed into the Warrior Stadium parking lot.
The 2021 homecoming king and queen will be crowned before kickoff of the 7:30 p.m. game.
A high school dance is planned for 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
