Several Penn-Trafford schools move to remote instruction leading up to Christmas
Penn-Trafford High School officials will close the building on Friday, after being notified of four positive covid-19 cases on top of four that were already reported within the past 14 days.
“The district will follow the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the Pennsylvania Department of Education recommendations,” Superintendent Matthew Harris wrote in a message to parents and staff on Thursday. “Penn-Trafford High School will be closed on Friday, Dec. 18, and will then follow the district-wide closure next week (Dec. 21-23) and the week after the holiday.”
Here is the status of Penn-Trafford schools in the coming weeks:
• Friday: Remote instruction for high school, middle school and Harrison Park Elementary students; all other district schools are open.
• Dec. 21-23 and Jan. 4-8: Remote instruction for all students, district-wide.
• Dec. 24-Jan. 1: Holiday break
All district schools will reopen on Monday, Jan. 11.
Parents of children exhibiting covid symptoms or testing positive prior to the return to classes must contact school nurse Lisa Popovich at popovichl@penntrafford.org.
