Pine celebrated its 35th annual Community Day on June 21.

The event started earlier than in previous years, with festivities kicking off at 2 p.m. and ending with a fireworks display by Pyrotecnico.

Pine Community Park was filled with food trucks, games and live entertainment for all ages.

Community Day featured plenty of enjoyment for kids: train rides, a petting zoo, an animal show, inflatables and a magic show. Classic activities such as the Rich-Mar Rotary’s pie and watermelon eating contests took place at the children’s stage area.

“What makes Community Day so special isn’t just the activities or the entertainment — it’s the people,” said Ryan Colombo, chairman of the supervisors. “Seeing residents of all ages come together across the park, sharing in the fun and reconnecting with neighbors, truly speaks to the heart of Pine.

“None of it would be possible without the hard work and dedication of our township staff, volunteers and community partners. Their efforts are what turn this day into such a meaningful tradition year after year.”

The event also allowed Pine to make good use of the newly opened Friends of Pine amphitheater. No Bad JuJu headlined this year’s Community Day and rocked the crowd from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

“Pine Community Day has been a great community event for over 30 years, and this year was the best one yet due to the support of our Pine residents and community partners and the efforts of our township staff,” Supervisor Pat Avolio said. “With a variety of activities, vendors, entertainment and spread throughout Pine Park, there was something for everyone.

“For the first time, we gathered at the new Friends of Pine amphitheater, and it became so much more than just a venue. It was a place for neighbors to connect, families to enjoy and all of us to celebrate under the fireworks. It was a powerful reminder of how much this day — and our community — mean to us.”

On behalf of the board, Avolio extended a special thanks to the township staff for their dedication to making the event a success.
