Pine’s 34th annual Community Day will take place at Pine Community Park on June 22 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. This year will feature food trucks, game booths and live entertainment.

“We’ve upgraded the band, we have more food trucks than we’ve ever had. We’re trying out a lot of new things this year that we hope will continue on,” parks and recreation director Pete Geis said.

The Boy Scouts will be present for the grand opening ceremony. New this year, there will be an enchanted princesses meet and greet at the Kids Zone. Wild World Animals will have an animal presentation at the stage area. Dancing Queen will perform music on the main stage starting at 6:30 p.m.

Classic activities like the pie and watermelon eating contests will be back this year at the stage area. The Rotary Club watermelon eating contest will take place at 6 p.m. The Rotary pie eating contest will take place at 7:30.

The event will also have misting tents to keep residents cool during the extreme heat expected this weekend. The township is in communication with the Wexford Volunteer Fire Company to be on the lookout for those suffering from any heat-related issues during Community Day.

A fireworks display by Pyrotecnico is set for 9:30.
