Therese Blume of Allison Park was one of nearly 600 University of Dallas undergraduate students named to the spring 2020 Dean’s List for earning a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher. Blume is majoring in English.
Women’s Business Network
Part networking group, part mastermind group, WBN provides members with the tools to be successful while expanding her circle of influence and marketplace. All professional women are welcome to attend as a guest at the meeting for no charge. The Cranberry Chapter meets on the first and third Thursday of each month at 7:30 a.m. at the Cranberry United Presbyterian Church, 2662 Rochester Road, Cranberry. The Criders Corners Chapter meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at noon at The Sports Grille 1294 Freedom Road, Cranberry Township. AP Scholar Awards
Six Aquinas Academy of Pittsburgh seniors and alumni were awarded AP Scholar awards for their success in taking College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) Exams.
Genevieve Archer (2021), Helen Rothfus (2020), Macrina Vollmer (2021) earned the AP Scholar award that is granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.
Benjamin Stalder (2021) was awarded the AP Scholar with Honor award, which is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.
Anna Plazek (2020) and Samuel Schirra (2020) earned the AP Scholar with Distinction award, which is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
Church selling pumpkin rolls
Salem United Methodist Church is accepting orders for pumpkin rolls. Rolls are handmade by members of Salem Church for this fundraiser.
Traditional rolls cost $15, and gluten-free rolls cost $20. One roll serves 12-15 people.

Difficult-to-recycle event scheduled for Nov. 21 in Pine
Pine will host an event to collect difficult-to-recycle items from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 21.
ECS&R Environmental Coordination Services and Recycling Inc. will be at the municipal parking lot at 230 Pearce Mill Road to collect TV sets, computer monitors, small appliances that contain Freon, fluorescent bulbs, batteries and other electronics.
Registration is required, and a fee is charged for the items dropped off.

Virtual divorce workshop for women
A three-hour workshop is being offered online Nov. 14 to provide women with education and information on the legal, financial and emotional issues associated with divorce.
The workshop will be held via video conference from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
The cost is $15 per person and preregistration is required by Nov.12 by calling Donna Cheswick at 724-493-9695. Once registered, online instructions will be emailed.
Honor Society plans Thanksgiving food drive
The National Honor Society at North Hills High School and the Class of 2021 are teaming up to host the annual Thanksgiving food drive to help families in the district who are in need.
Food will be collected from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at North Hills Christian Church, 778 Thompson Run Road.
Items needed for the food drive include stuffing, canned vegetables, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, “take and bake” bread, canned fruit, juice and baked goods mixes.
Cash or checks also can be donated by dropping them off or mailing them to North Hills Christian Church, c/o Family Food Bags, 778 Thompson Run Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
