PRHS scholarship blood drive

Four PRHS seniors — Ava Foster, Max Romano, Caitlin Golla and Aakash Kottakota — organized the drive to encourage fellow students and community members to donate blood to help others in need. The goal is to recruit 50 donors for the upcoming drive. Donations will go towards funding PRHS scholarships to support local hospital patients. Appointments are recommended. All 16-year-old’s require a signed parental consent form.

Chemical, e-waste pickup
Richland Township’s waste hauler has three more dates available this year to collect hazardous chemical and electronic waste from residents.
Registration to sign up for the June 14 pickup ends on May 28. The deadline to register for the Sept. 20 pickup is Sept. 3. Registration for the Dec. 6 collection must be made by Nov. 22.
Residents must contact Vogel Disposal Service’s customer service department at 724-625-1511 at least 10 days prior to the pickup date to receive a containment package with instructions.
The electronic waste that will be picked up includes TVs and computers including desktop, laptop, tablet, e-readers and peripherals such as monitors, keyboards and printers. No more than three TVs or monitors will be collected from any residence during the year.
Household chemical products that contain corrosive, toxic, ignitable or reactive ingredients that require careful disposal also will be accepted.
Contaminant packages must weigh less than 50 pounds and placed 10 to 15 feet from the curb along a driveway or street. The bags will not be collected on the curb or public property. Bags can be put out 24 hours before the scheduled collection date.
Details on how to participate can be found at vogeldisposal.com/schedule-pickup.
