Writing Project
The Western PA Writing Project from the University of Pittsburgh will be hosting its 10th annual Young Writers’ Institute from 9 a.m.-noon June 19-23 at the Sing Sing Sing Studio in Wexford for incoming fifth through eighth graders. Scholarships are available if needed. Pittsburgh area young adult fiction writer Caroline Carlson will be a guest presenter. Register online at atlasartpress.com/shop/ywi-2023.
Home Show
Enjoy a weekend of fresh ideas and smart advice Feb. 24-26 at the new Home Show at The Block Northway. Browse more than 100 home improvement, decorating and landscaping vendors. Three action-packed days of indoor exhibits, seminars and demonstrations will educate and entertain individuals interested in information, advice and inspiration. Providence Heights Alpha School will host an open house for prospective students on Feb. 26, from 1-3 p.m. Register online at alphaschool.org. Providence Heights is an independent, private Catholic co-ed school for pre-K4 through eighth grade students. It’s located in McCandless.

Join the Pine Township Democratic Committee from 3:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at Full Pint Brewery Outpost for its fourth annual fundraiser and candidate meet and greet. There will be appetizers, local wine and craft beer (cash bar), live music, raffles, and more.
