Pete Geis has been hired as Pine Township’s director of parks and open space. His predecessor, Joni Patsko, retired last month after 30 years of service to the township.

Geis has spent the last 10 years as the director of parks and recreation at Cranberry Township and served the 10 years before that in the same position at Ross Township.

“In Pete, we’re getting someone who has a long history of quality service offerings in the parks and recreation field,” township manager Jason Kratsas said.

Geis was slated to begin with the township at the beginning of June. His annual salary is $94,000.

“Over the past 30 years, Pine Township has created the highest quality facilities in the region. We’re excited to continue that legacy and to build programs around the needs of our community. Pete’s skills will allow the township to build a program that serves our whole population. We are thrilled Pete has joined the township team,” Kratsas said.
