Pine-Richland JROTC wins competition events
Pine-Richland High School’s JROTC competed in the McDowell High School Drill Meet on Feb. 4 in Erie. Each team placed at the event, including:
• 1st place, JV Unarmed Drill Team commanded by Cadet Bella Gillette
• 1st place, Female Color Guard commanded by Cadet Alanna Shaw
• 1st place, JV Color Guard commanded by Cadet Ryan Galbraith
• 2nd place, Varsity Armed Drill Team commanded by Cadet Emma Terpstra
• 3rd place, Uniform Inspection Team commanded by Cadet Jack Harris
• 3rd place, Varsity Color Guard commanded by Cadet Alanna Shaw
• 3rd place, Varsity Unarmed Drill Team commanded by Cadet Bella Christner
• 3rd place, JV Armed Drill Team commanded by Cadet Alex Friedrich
• 3rd place Overall
Seven cadets placed in the Knockout Top Ten: Tyler Brown (Varsity), JJ Cerny (Varsity), Meghan Cerny (JV), Trenton Farley (Varsity), Abby Hagen (JV), Nate Huerbin (Varsity), Erin Kemp (both JV & Varsity), Parker Mehlhorn (JV), Macie Morris (JV) and Kenzie Roy (Varsity).
JROTC also competed at Parkersburg South in West Virginia on Feb. 18. After a tiebreaker, they took first place overall, as well as:
• 1st place, JV Unarmed Drill Team commanded by Cadet Bella Gillette
• 1st place, Varsity Unarmed Drill Team commanded by Cadet Bella Christner
• 2nd place, Varsity Color Guard commanded by Cadet Alanna Shaw
• 2nd place, Varsity Armed Drill Team commanded by Cadet Emma Terpstra
• 2nd place, JV Armed Drill Team commanded by Cadet Alex Friedrich
• 2nd place, Uniform Inspection commanded by Cadet Reva Kalbhor
• 3rd place, JV Color Guard commanded by Cadet Ryan Galbraith
Six cadets placed in the Knockout Top Ten: JJ Cerny, Jack Harris, Logan Jackson, Reva Kalbhor, Erin Kemp and Kenzie Roy.
