Pokemon, ice cream and more at Northern Tier Regional Library in November

Northern Tier Regional Library’s Richland Center will close at 4 p.m. Nov. 22 and be closed on Nov. 23 for Thanksgiving. The Pine Center location will be closed Nov. 2 for a high school in-service day. It will also be closed Nov. 23-27 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Upcoming programs include:

PR Pokémon Club

5:30-6:30 p.m. Nov. 6

Join other Pokémon trainers at the library for an hour of Pokémon fun. Bring your game cards or hand held games in order to play together, swap or exchange with others. (Trades need to be approved by both parties’ adults to avoid misunderstandings). Boards are available to learn how to play the card game and new fans are encouraged to attend. A craft or Pokémon-related project will be offered as well. This event is self-directed and open to children, teens and their families. Registration is required.

Friends of the Library

10 a.m.-noon Nov. 7

The Friends of the Northern Tier Library will meet on the first Tuesday every other month. The Friends sponsor the annual Used Book Sale and many other programs in support of the library. New members are welcome.

Diwali Take-Home Bundle

Nov. 7

The Diwali Take-home Bundle offers an assortment of Diwali-themed crafts to make at home and celebrate the holiday as a family. The craft bundle is for all ages and registration is required. You can pick up your craft bundles at the library’s lobby starting Nov. 7.

Graeter’s Ice Cream

6-7 p.m. Nov. 13

Get the inside scoop on Graeter’s Ice Cream in Wexford. It is sure to be a sweet evening with discussion about how Graeter’s came to be and the ice cream making process. Ice cream samples will be served at the end. Registration is required.

Holiday Boutique

Running early November through Dec. 16

A sample of this year’s offerings includes tickets to events at Pittsburgh Opera, Pittsburgh Botanic Gardens, Living Treasures Wild Animal Park, Keystone Safari and the Mattress Factory.

Gift baskets include Book Lover Junk Journal, Lenox, Fitz & Floyd, and Mud Pie china, Bamboo Tea Box, autographed gift books, Christmas reading basket.

Bids will be accepted until 5 p.m. Dec. 8 for decorated Christmas trees, and 5 p.m. Dec. 16 for all other boutique raffle items. Winners will be notified by phone the following morning. All proceeds benefit the library.

Chess Club

5-6 p.m. Nov. 20

Practice your chess skills and play against other kids in the community. The program room will be set up with chess sets and tables for families to meet and play a few rounds in an informal setting.

Robotics & Coding Club

4:30-6:30 p.m. Nov. 27

Stop by the library to engage with a variety of tools that will allow you to develop your skills in robotics, programming and coding.
