All the things everyone loves are set to return for Pine’s Community Day.

That means food, music, fun and, of course, fireworks.

This marks the 32nd year for the event, which was missed in 2020 because of the covid pandemic. Joni Patsko, director of parks and recreation, has organized them since 1992.

“It’s an awesome day. There’s a lot of community participation,” she said.

The 32nd Community Day is scheduled to run on Saturday, July 16 beginning with a flag-raising ceremony with Boy Scout Troop 344 at 3:50 p.m. until the fireworks show by Pyrotecnico beginning at 9:30 p.m.

The popular Wild World of Animals show is scheduled from 4:30 to 5:20 p.m. at the stage area.

“You never know which animal they’re going to pull out,” Patsko said.

A barnyard petting zoo will run from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

The Wexford Volunteer Fire Company will start a demonstration at 5:30 p.m. and students from the Sing, Sing, Sing music school will perform from 6-7 p.m. in the Keys Pavilion.

Ice carving will be featured at three sessions beginning at 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.

A Eurobungy trampoline, rock wall and trackless train rides will be available from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Activities available from 5 to 9 p.m. include a giant slide, extreme dance party, obstacle courses, jungle combo and Camelot castle.

Participating food vendors will be Brusters Ice Cream, Bates & Hayes Concessions, Conession Food Services, Cool Treatz, The Flame BBQ, R&J Concessions and Soergels.

Food available will include ice cream, kettle corn, shaved ice, funnel cakes, hot dogs, Italian sausage, pulled pork and chicken, hot sausage, cheesesteaks, hot dogs, hamburgers, fried Oreos and roasted corn.

For those who save room, a watermelon eating contest for children and adults will start at 6 p.m., while a pie-eating contest is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Two storytelling sessions, sponsored by Northern Tier Library, will be held from 5:30 to 6 p.m. and 6:30 to 7 p.m.

Casanova & The Divas Band is scheduled to perform first from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and again from 8 p.m. up until the fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.

“Pyrotecnico always put on a good show for us,” Patsko said.

The rain date for the fireworks show is Sunday, July 17.
