BB Steal 80s was the first band to perform in the new amphitheater as part of Pine’s Rockin’ Rec summer concert series.

The Friends of Pine Community Parks amphitheater is now open in Pine Community Park.

The community was invited to attend the official ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:45 p.m. June 12, which coincided with the kickoff of Pine’s Rockin’ Rec summer concert series.

Township Manager Jason Kratsas and members of the board of supervisors were present to mark the opening of the long-awaited outdoor feature.

The celebration featured an evening of live music and food. Entertainment was provided by BB Steal 80s, and the Boonseek Food Truck provided options for hungry attendees. The event wrapped up at 8:30 p.m.

“This Amphitheater represents a new chapter for community engagement and outdoor programming in Pine Township,” said Tyler Walker, director of Parks and Recreation. “We are proud to offer this space to our residents and look forward to the many events and memories it will host for years to come.”

The Friends of Pine Amphitheater was designed to serve as a versatile venue for concerts, performances and community gatherings.

“The grand opening of our new amphitheater is a monumental moment for our community,” said Audrey Mackie, vice chair of the supervisors. “This space was shaped by the thoughtful input of our community, whose ideas and enthusiasm helped bring it to life. Residents told us they wanted more places to gather, celebrate and enjoy the arts — and we listened. Now, whether it’s a concert, a play or a local celebration, this amphitheater will be a vibrant hub where people of all ages can come together and make lasting memories.”

Pine’s Rockin’ Rec summer concert series runs throughout the summer, with the next concert taking place June 26.
