Members of the Pine-Richland School Board showed their ongoing support for the board’s leadership by voting to reappoint the president and vice president during the Dec. 7 reorganization meeting.

The board voted unanimously to reappoint board president Peter Lyons and vice president Christine Misback to their fourth consecutive, one-year term leading the board.

“It is an honor to continue to serve a board that is as distinguished and engaged as this one,” said Lyons, who was the only director nominated for the post. “You all challenge me to bring my best game to this and I appreciate that. I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve again.”

Misback also was the only school director nominated to serve as vice president.

The board also appointed the following board members and district staff to various positions:

• School director Carla Meyer was reappointed as the legislative representative to the Pennsylvania School Boards Association.

• School director Katarzyna Swope was reappointed as representative to the A.W. Beattie Career Center Joint Committee for a two-year term.

• School director Greg DiTullio was reappointed as a representative to the Pine Township Parks and Recreation Board for 2021.

• Misback was appointed as the 2021 liaison to the Pine-Richland Opportunities Fund Board of Trustees.

• Lyons was reappointed as a Food Service Advisory & Wellness Committee Representative.

• Dana Kirk, the district’s director of financial and operational services, was reappointed as a delegate to Allegheny North Tax Collection Committee. School board Treasurer Marc Casciani will serve as an alternate.

The other members of the school board are Benjamin Campbell, Matthew Mehalik and Matthew Moye. The board secretary is Barbara Williams.
