Two recent Pine-Richland High School graduates received honors recently.

Jack Nolin won the Brighter Financial Futures Personal Budgeting Challenge for Westmoreland, Fayette, Washington, Allegheny and Greene counties.

Guided by teacher Courtney Kronk-Love, Jack amassed over 71,000 points in the simulation, 12,000-plus more than the second-place contestant. The Personal Budgeting Challenge gives students 28 months of real-world decision-making that helps prepare students for the future.

Samyuktha Ravichandran was awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award. Samy accumulated more than 100 hours of volunteer service at the Carnegie Science Center, hosting shows and teaching science.

Her volunteer service also includes supporting UPMC Children’s Hospital, coaching youth tennis and volunteering in Kenya to support medical needs. She has collectively volunteered over 300 hours of community service to these initiatives and others.
