Pine-Richland student news for the week of May 31, 2022

Angelina Saldamarco, a senior exercise science major, won the Student Leader of the Year award during Slippery Rock University’s Office of Student Engagement and Leadership’s 2021-22 Rising Star and Distinguished Leader awards on April 20 at the Smith Student Center. The Student Leader of the Year Award recognizes student leaders for their outstanding contributions to campuswide, co-curricular programs and leadership and organizational ability in helping plan and present programs.

Grace Welsh, a junior cross-cultural service major at Bob Jones University, was among more than 620 students named to the Spring 2022 President’s List.

Savanna Wolf, Irma Tyndall, Renee Waibel and Gary Clark have been named to the President’s List at Southern New Hampshire University for the Winter 2022 semester.

Shelby Allen was one of 48 students recognized during the Department of Physician Assistance Science at Saint Francis University’s annual White Coat Ceremony. The event marks the end of the first year of training and a transition into clinical education.

Rylee Kopchak, a native of Gibsonia, was recently initiated into the Wake Forest University Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society.

Oliver Snyder, a graduate of Pine Richland High School, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine on May 23. This month, he will begin a residency in emergency medicine in Muskegon, Mich.

Ava Folloni, a Pine Richland High School graduate, recently completed her second year at Carnegie Mellon University. She earned a 4.0 GPA both semesters this year and is majoring in public policy and environmental engineering. She will be working for the Department of Energy this summer.

Cassandra Buechel graduated from Thiel College on May 8. She was a biology major.

Jacob Mellinger of Wexford was named to the Dean’s List at Belmont University for the spring 2022 semester.

Zach Riggins of Wexford was inducted into the Baldwin Wallace University chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society in the spring 2022 semester. Riggins, a graduate of Pine-Richland High School, shared the honor with 88 other students.

Madeline Bailey, Mark Butora, Nick Choiniere, Isabelle Duran, Christian Giannetti, Jake Guidas, Sophia Melanson, Lily Novak, Jon VanKirk, Margo Weller and Hannah Werne graduated from Grove City College on May 14.

Eli Harpalani of Wexford was named to Tallahassee Community College Spring 2022 Dean’s List.
