One person was killed and two injured in a shooting Sunday night in Wilkinsburg, authorities said.

The shooting happened at about 9:24 p.m near Rebecca Avenue and Jeannette Street, Allegheny County Lieutenant Kenneth Ruckel said.

Wilkinsburg police and EMS responded and found three people shot, including a 22-year-old male who was pronounced dead at the scene inside a vehicle.

Two females, ages 21 and 25, were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Ruckel said.

Police said the trio had just left a home and gotten into a vehicle in the 500 block of Jeannette Street when multiple shots were fired into the car.

The male driver sped off and crashed into several parked vehicles and a building before stopping in a yard along Rebecca Avenue, police said.

The name of the man killed has not been released, and police have not released a description of any suspects.

The investigation continues.

Anyone with information is asked to call the county police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
