Allegheny County Jail
Brandon Thompson

One of two men charged in a 2017 Pitcairn robbery that left a Penn Hills man dead pleaded guilty Friday in Allegheny County court to third-degree murder, robbery and other charges.

Brandon Thompson, 25, of East Hills, was sentenced by Judge Edward J. Borkowski to 20 to 60 years in prison for his role in the March 6, 2017, robbery at a Broadway Boulevard apartment.

Anthony Bailey, 27, of Penn Hills, was shot several times in what Allegheny County Police described as a robbery gone wrong. Bailey died a day after the shooting at Forbes Regional Hospital.

Thompson and Jamal Darnell Pamplin, 31, of East Liberty, went to the apartment that night and attempted to rob Bailey. Thompson shot him, according to criminal complaints.

Pamplin is also charged with homicide, robbery, aggravated assault, conspiracy and reckless endangerment in the case. He is scheduled to go to trial in October, according to the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office.
