2 more Port Authority employees test positive for coronavirus

Two more Port Authority employees tested positive for the coronavirus, officials said.

The new cases bring the number of covid-19 cases involving Port Authority employees to 39. Last week, Port Authority reported five new cases.

According to officials, the two employees, a mechanic and a service person, worked at a Port Authority facility in Manchester. The last day both employees worked was July 31. They reported positive coronavirus cases Aug. 6.

The cases were reported to the Allegheny County Health Department.

Port Authority officials reminded riders they are required to wear face coverings at stops and stations and when board and riding vehicles. Vehicle capacity limits remain in place to ensure social distancing.
