Pittsburgh police are investigating several shootings on May 24, 2019, including one in the South Side, one downtown and one in the Allentown neighborhood.

A young womandied and three men were injured in a spate of shootings early Friday across Pittsburgh, authorities said.

The fatal shooting happened shortly after 3 a.m. near the intersection of South 27th and Jane streets on the city’s South Side, according to police.

Two friends drove 18-year-old Morgan Dunn, of McKeesport, to UPMC Mercy where she was pronounced dead about 20 minutes later, authorities said.

The fatal shooting capped a night of gunfire that began two hours earlier in the city’s Allentown neighborhood. Officers responded about 1:15 a.m. to shots fired on East Warrington Avenue, according to Public Safety spokesman Chris Togneri.

The shooting happened about two blocks from the Zone 3 police station. Police found no victims, but the window of a business was shot, police said.

A little over an hour later and a quarter-mile away, police responded to a ShotSpotter notification and 911 calls for a shooting on Loyal Way, Togneri said.

There, officers found two injured men – one was shot in the arm and the other was shot in the leg, he said. Paramedics took both to the hospital in stable condition.

The third incident happened about 2:45 a.m. on Liberty Avenue in the Central Business District.. Togneri said police and paramedics found a man who’d been shot in the buttocks. He was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital for evaluation.

In that shooting, 24-year-old Andre Jamal Walker was charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and receiving stolen property.

No other arrests have been made. Togneri said investigators do not believe the shootings are related.
