4th resident dies at Kane Glen Hazel facility from coronavirus complications

A fourth resident at a Kane Community Living long-term care facility died from coronavirus complications, according to data from Allegheny County.

All of the deaths occurred at the Glen Hazel location, where at least 26 other residents tested positive. Four residents’ tests still are pending, and 24 have tested negative.

Two other residents are hospitalized, according to county data.

Fifty employees were tested for the virus, and 19 were positive. Five have tests that are pending.

The virus was first reported March 25 in Kane’s Glen Hazel location when an employee tested positive. Two residents tested positive two days later.

The virus has not been detected in any of Kane’s other facilities.

In the Scott facility, seven residents and six employees have been tested. One resident test and three employees are still pending.

At McKeesport, the 11 residents and seven employees tested all were negative. In the Ross location, seven residents and eight employees were tested. One of each remain pending.
