It’s the weekend and we’ve got a fresh beer fest in town, plus lots more going on. Make sure to brace for pregame preseason Steelers traffic Friday night (kickoff is 7:30 p.m.). Here are some suggestions for what to do.

Beer here, it’s fresh!

The nation’s first “Black Brew” festival — the work of breweries owned by African-Americans — is back, with its second annual Fresh Fest in Pittsburgh. More than 75 breweries and collaborations from around the country join 75 artists, musicians and food trucks. The event kickoff party is Friday at Ace Hotel Pittsburgh and Casa Brasil in East Liberty. The main event takes place Saturday and Sunday at Nova Place on the North Side. The event is hosted by Drinking Partners and Black Brew Culture. Entertainment includes the Flow Band, Elias Khouri, DJ Bamboo, MidKnight Rose, BBGuns, 7p Starship Mantis, Nappy Roots, DJ Nate Da Barber, DJ Femi and Arie Cole.

Go for a run…at night

More than 1,000 people are expected to jog the Fleet Feet Liberty Mile, a race set to begin at 7 p.m. Friday in downtown Pittsburgh. The run — the third stop on the BBTM Grand Prix Tour 2019 — was named one of America’s most iconic races by Runner’s World. The start line is on Penn Avenue, between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Street; the finish line is at Sixth Street and Liberty Avenue. New this year is a virtual mile to inspire runners to log their best mile even if they can’t make it downtown for the event.
