This is the final weekend to see the Carnegie International at Carnegie Museum of Art in Oakland.

Here are some suggestions for things to do in Pittsburgh this first weekend of spring

Lucky No. 7 for Wigle

Wigle Whiskey turns 7 this weekend and is hosting the Wigle Whiskey Birthday Bash from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight at 2401 Smallman St. in the Strip District. As part of the festivities the company will release its Port Rye Whiskey and give free samples. Locally made Millie’s Homemade Ice Cream will be selling ice cream to go with Wigle’s cocktail “Have Your Cake & Drink It Too.” There will be live music by Adam Fritz.

Nearing the end

This is the final weekend to see the 57th Carnegie International, Carnegie Museum of Art’s signature exhibition. A concert “A Night of Deep Listening,” takes place on Saturday at the Oakland Museum. There will also be a symposium on Saturday with presentations by University of Pittsburgh students and a keynote conversation by curator Ingrid Schaffner and Janera Solomon, executive director of the Kelly Strayhorn Theater. This exhibit showcases work by 32 artists and artist collectives.

Oh, the Humanities

The Pittsburgh Humanities Festival is Friday through Sunday. This event brings together internationally renowned academics, artists, and intellectual innovators offering interviews, intimate conversations and performances focused on art, literature, music, science, policy, and politics at venues throughout Pittsburgh’s cultural district.

It’s a record

The Government Center, a new record store in the North Side neighborhood of Deutschtown celebrates its grand opening Saturday.

The event, co-hosted by independent, Pittsburgh-based record labels Misra Records and Crafted Sounds, will begin at noon starting with live music. At 8:30 p.m., PGHRecordNight will host guests who can bring their music or spin some from the store and be a disc jockey in a 30-minute time slot.

Matted

The NCAA Division I wrestling tournament is being held at PPG Paints Arena, Uptown through Saturday. This is the event’s first time here since 1957 when it was at Pitt’s Fitzgerald Field House. Wrestling is popular in the Commonwealth, with Penn State having won seven of the past eight NCAA titles. More than 50 NCAA qualifiers are from Pennsylvania, the largest representation of any state.
