Mother’s Day is Sunday. So celebrate the woman who gave you life with one of these events this weekend.

More than a race

The 27th annual Komen Pittsburgh Race for the Cure begins at 6:30 a.m. Sunday. There is a Kids Dash and a 5K Run and Walk. The race honors and celebrates people whose lives have been affected by breast cancer. It is the organization’s largest fundraiser. Komen Greater Pennsylvania serves 53 counties and has raised nearly $25 million to help fund local breast health education, screening, and treatment initiatives. Organizers expect 18,000 people.

The audience becomes part of the show with several opportunities to participate. Terbosic is an internationally touring magician, comedian, daredevil and entertainer from Pittsburgh. He is the co-star of Discover Science Channel’s show “Houdini’s Last Secret’s,” a four-part television series that uncovers incredible secrets about Harry Houdini’s life, family, magic and science behind some of his biggest stunts and escapes.
