Police: Accused heroin dealer scuffles with Pittsburgh cops trying to arrest him
Two plainclothes Pittsburgh police officers said they got into a scuffle with a man during an arrest attempt in Homewood on Wednesday.
The officers say they spotted Kelly Parker, 35, of Penn Hills selling drugs at about 3 p.m. in the 7200 block of Frankstown Avenue. They approached him to seize the narcotics and place him under arrest.
Investigators say Kelly fought with the officers and a crowd gathered and began yelling at them.
Backup arrived on the scene and officers took Parker into custody. He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail and charged with possession with the intent to sell heroin/fentanyl, tampering with evidence, resisting arrest and aggravated assault.
The officers suffered minor scrapes and bruises but did not require medical treatment. Parker was not injured, police said.
