DirecTV subscribers in the Pittsburgh area will once again be able to view ABC affiliate WTAE-TV.

In a joint statement Sunday, Hearst Television, parent company of WTAE, and AT&T, which owns DirecTV, announced they had entered into a new, multi-year retransmission agreement to provide Hearst-owned local broadcast stations to customers of AT&T’s video platforms across the country.

“All Hearst-owned stations are returning to any impacted AT&T homes today,” the statement said.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The agreement gives AT&T permission to provide Hearst’s 34 local broadcast stations to customers in 26 markets, including Pittsburgh.

“Hearst and AT&T regret any inconvenience to their customers and viewers and thank them for their patience,” the statement said.

The announcement of the WTAE agreement comes one day after an agreement was reached between Cox Media Group and Verizon, which restored Pittsburgh NBC affiliate WPXI-TV to Verizon Fios customers.
