The number of confirmed and probable cases of the coronavirus in Allegheny County increased by 28 to 1,805, while deaths remained unchanged at 150, the Allegheny County Health Department reported Monday.

The new cases were reported to the department throughout the day Sunday.

While the number of cases matched the number reported by the state on Monday, the state was reporting 160 deaths from the coronavirus in Allegheny County, or 10 more than the county reported. County officials have said the reason for the difference is in the state’s reporting databases. The county has access to only one of the two systems from which the state collects its data.

One new hospitalization was recorded, increasing that total to 319.

The majority of cases have been reported in people 25 and older.

The county said in a news release that 14% of the cases, or 256 of them, involved health care workers.

The first case was reported in the county on March 14. Allegheny County moved to the yellow phase of Gov. Tom Wolf’s reopening plan May 15.
