Allegheny County reported eight new coronavirus cases on Monday, bringing the total count to 1,919.

The county has reported a total of 151 deaths, including one new death. That lags behind the state count of 164.

County officials have said that the reason for the different death count is the state’s reporting databases. The county has access to only one of the two systems from which the state collects its covid-19 data.

Allegheny County originally said there was only one new coronavirus case reported throughout the day Sunday instead of eight. This was due to a dataset error, according to the county.

A total of 340 Allegheny County coronavirus patients have been hospitalized, 131 of whom required intensive care.

About 67% of those hospitalized were 60 years old or older, and 81% of those who died because of the virus were older than 70.

The youngest person to have died in Allegheny County was 42.
