Allegheny County reports 17 more covid-19 cases, 2 new hospitalizations

Allegheny County health officials reported 17 new covid-19 cases, two new hospitalizations and no new deaths on Sunday.

That brings the county’s coronavirus total to 2,175. Of those, 2,038 are confirmed cases and 137 are probable cases.

More than 300 Allegheny County residents have been hospitalized for coronavirus-related issues since March 14, when the first case was reported in the county. That number increased by two on Sunday, bringing the total number to 364.

The total number of deaths remained at 178. Of the total number of deaths, 166 are confirmed to be linked to the coronavirus and 12 are probable. Those who died are between the ages of 42 and 103, with 84 being the median age, county health officials said.

Women have made up 53% of the total cases.

The breakdown of Allegheny County covid-19 cases is as follows:

0-4: 16 (1%)

5-12: 23 (1%)

13-18: 37 (2%)

19-24: 152 (7%)

25-49: 738 (34%)

50-64: 558 (26%)

65 +: 651 (30%)
