Allegheny County officials reported 19 additional cases of covid-19 and two more deaths Wednesday, bringing the total to 1,394 confirmed or probable cases and 111 deaths countywide.

That’s compared to 10 additional cases and seven deaths reported Tuesday.

The county reported no new deaths Monday or Sunday, which could have been the result of a delay in reporting over the weekend.

The youngest person to have died from the coronavirus in Allegheny County was 42 years old and had underlying conditions, county officials said.

Of the 247 hospitalizations in recent weeks, 106 people were admitted to an ICU and 62 have required a ventilator.

More than 19,000 people have been tested countywide, according to county health department data.

At the Allegheny County Jail, 28 inmates have tested positive for the coronavirus, officials said.

Of that total, 22 are in the facility and six have either been released or who have recovered.

Five staff members at the jail have also tested positive.

Allegheny County Treatment Alternative (ACTA), a 50-bed drug and alcohol inpatient facility, continues to report that 11 residents and three staff members have tested positive for the coronavirus.

Pennsylvania Department of Health officials reported 94 more deaths statewide Wednesday, bringing the total to 3,106. There have been 51,845 cases of the coronavirus in Pennsylvania.
