Allegheny County reports 2 more coronavirus cases, bringing total to 6

The Allegheny County Health Department announced two additional cases of covid-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the county to six.

The department said the new cases are adults — one in their 60s and one in their 50s. They are isolated at home.

The department said there are “many” other test results pending. The county’s first two cases were reported Saturday, and two additional cases were reported Sunday.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 13 new confirmed cases of covid-19 in the state Monday afternoon. That brings the total number of cases confirmed by the state to 76. That number does not include testing done by commercial labs around the state. One of Allegheny County’s six cases and are not included in the state’s total.

Gov. Tom Wolf on Sunday night ordered all Allegheny County bars and restaurants to suspend dine-in services for 14 days. County officials also urged all non-essential businesses to close for two weeks.

The City of Pittsburgh ordered a ban on gatherings of more than 50 people, in accordance with a CDC recommendation.
