Allegheny County reports 87 new coronavirus cases, 1 death

The Allegheny County Health Department on Saturday reported 87 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total reported cases to 8,796.

The department added one new death, for a total of 258 attributed to covid-19. Nine new hospitalizations were reported to the county.

Of the new cases, 86 are confirmed and one is probable. The 7-day average for the county is 91 cases per day.

The total cases reported in Allegheny County are 8,563 confirmed and 233 probable.The negative cases are reported to be 120,225.

The ages of the new cases break down like this:

Age 0-4: 0

Age 5-12: 1

Age: 13-18: 7

Age: 19-24: 10

Age: 25-49: 26

Age: 50-64: 22

Age 65+: 21

The newly reported death is a person in their 70s who passed away on Friday.

The state’s covid-19 dashboard indicates Allegheny County has 142 patients currently hospitalized, with 32 of them on ventilators.

There have been 730 covid-19 hospitalizations in the county since March 14.
