Allegheny County’s seven-day average of new covid-19 cases on Friday dropped to 68 as 80 new instances were reported. It’s the lowest average recorded since late June.
The seven-day average peaked at 206 on July 17 and has been steadily dropping.
The county’s total cases are now 9,756. Of those, 9,454 have been confirmed and 302 are probable, according to the Allegheny County Health Department.
Six additional deaths were reported, bringing the county health department’s total to 304 attributed to covid-19.
According to the state’s covid-19 tracking website, there are currently 91 Allegheny County residents in the hospital for the virus, with 38 of them on ventilators. A total of 915 patients have been hospitalized.
There have been 6,694 covid-19 recoveries reported in the county.
The health department reported 1,397 new test results for a daily positivity rate of 5.73%. A total of 141,087 people have been tested in Allegheny County.
