Allegheny Health Network expands access to drive-up coronavirus tests

Allegheny Health Network is expanding drive-up covid-19 testing to patients of non-AHN affiliated health care providers.

The patients will need a doctor’s order to be tested.

The drive-up testing started in March and is now available at seven locations in the region.

“At AHN, drive-up testing for covid-19 is part of our comprehensive plan to protect our patients, their families, and our caregivers from the risk of exposure to infectious disease, and to mitigate the potential spread of COVID-19 in our community,” Dr. Thomas Walsh, an infectious disease specialist and medical director of AHN’s antimicrobial stewardship program, said Monday.

AHN Wexford Health+Wellness Pavilion, 12311 Perry Highway, Wexford AHN Bethel Park Health+Wellness Pavilion, 990 Higbee Dr., Bethel Park 4220 William Penn Highway, Monroeville AHN West Side Health+Wellness Pavilion, 4247 Ridge Road, Erie AHN Braddock Urgent Care, 501 Braddock Ave., Braddock The former Divine Providence/Kindred Hospital, 1004 Arch St., Pittsburgh Heights Plaza Shopping Center, 1828 Union Ave., Harrison (Natrona Heights)

In order to be tested, a patient needs to have been evaluated for covid-19 symptoms and must have a prescription order for the test.
