A local animal shelter that was forced to suspend most of its operations in late March to comply with the state-mandated shutdown order to help slow the spread of coronavirus is resuming operations with some restrictions.
Animal Friends in Ohio Township announced that while patrons cannot “drop in” as they did in the past, they can begin booking appointments for the following services:
• Admissions
• Adoption
• Chow Wagon pet food bank
• Humane investigations
• Play yard rentals
• Retail store
• Spay and neuter services
• Donations
During the shutdown, the shelter continued to provide animals with food and water as well as medication and behavioral services. A telemedicine program also was set up to help people with questions about the health of their pets.
Additional details and links to set up an appointment are available on the Animal Friends website.
