Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank distribution on April 9, 2020, in Pittsburgh.

Another emergency food distribution will be held Friday outside PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.

This is the second distribution hosted there and it’s coordinated by the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank with help from the Pittsburgh Penguins, Allegheny-Fayette Central Labor Council and Pittsburgh police.

It will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The food bank plans to serve 2,000 vehicles.

This is one of many emergency distributions the food bank has organized, including one Wednesday afternoon at a Pittsburgh International Airport parking lot.

No walk-ups will be permitted at the PPG Paints Arena event. Police will be providing traffic control.

Traffic should enter the lots by turning onto Logan Street from Centre Avenue.

People will not be allowed to leave their cars while they wait for the food to be distributed.

People will receive two boxes of dry, nonperishable food per car regardless of the number of families or groups in the vehicle. It is enough food for more than 40 meals.

Those who need help and don’t have a vehicle should visit the food bank’s website for more information about other ways to get food.
